RUTS VOCATIONAL OFFERS - FEBRUARY AND MARCH

RYTS are delivering a series of vocational ‘workshop’ programmes, centred around motorbike mechanics funded by Young Person’s Guarantee (YPG). This funding is to work with young people aged 16-24 living in Edinburgh & Midlothian.

Please contact RUTS for dates of the next programme - There are still a few spaces remaining.

The details of these programmes are as follows:

WHAT:

  • A vocational engagement programme will be delivered over 6 sessions in our workshop.

  • This programme is designed to reflect a work-experience and will include a range of practical tasks.

  • There will also be opportunity to compete a nationally organised (SQA/SCQF) qualification at Level 4/5.

Each session will be hosted from 1000 - 1500 and all sessions will take place from RUTS workshop/RUTS outdoor space in Newtongrange (opposite the Mining Museum, EH22 4QN).

RUTS AGM 18:00 PM 26TH JANUARY 2023

RUTS will be hosting our virtual Zoom AGM from 18:00pm on the 26th January - all welcome but you must register to receive the link. You can register by emailing info@ruts.org.uk, please include your full name, address and email address.

YOUNG PERSON’S GUARANTEE

RUTS is delighted to be delivering programmes funded by the Young Person’s Guarantee.

The young Person’s Guarantee initiative to improve opportunities for 16 to 24 year olds in the wake of the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The overall goal the Young Person’s Guarantee is to ensure that every young person’s access to higher/further education, formal volunteering, training, an apprenticeship or fair employment.

Are you (or someone you know/working with) aged 16-24 and living in Edinburgh or Midlothian? Then why not check out our free industry training offer!

Supported by the Young Person’s Guarantee, RUTS can fund and support you to:

  • Access your CSCS green card

    Health and safety in a construction environment training and CSCS card application - helping you to gain entry level employment into the construction industry.

  • Access NPLQ training (National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification)

    Mandatory training to gain the qualification to become a lifeguard - splash into the leisure industry!

  • Access your Food hygiene Certificate

    Learn all about food hygiene practices and principals that you can use day to day - An essential course for anyone dealing with food or taking a step into the hospitality industry.

  • Access your First Aid Certificate

    Become a certificate First Aider - learn life saving skills and be confident to know when and how to act in an emergency.

We are also hosting a series of employability support programmes and workshop programmes, based on motorbikes, bicycles and boxing - keep an eye on our social media pages for dates and details of these coming up.
